In 2022, Zeff Energy identified the Moora region as an outstanding location for a large-scale wind farm capable of supporting Western Australia's clean energy future.
With a world-class wind resource, strong farming communities and planned investment in the State's transmission network, the region presented a unique opportunity to explore renewable energy development in partnership with local landowners.
From the beginning, Central Midlands Wind Farm has been shaped through collaboration. Over several years, local farming families, the Shire of Moora and the wider community have worked alongside Zeff to investigate whether the project could be developed in a way that delivers long-term economic, social and environmental benefits.
Fifteen farming families chose to work alongside Zeff throughout the project's early development. Together, we explored the opportunity through extensive wind monitoring, environmental assessments and technical studies to better understand both the opportunities and challenges associated with the project.
A significant milestone was reached in 2025 when participating landowners entered into long-term agreements supporting the future development of the wind farm and creating a pathway for the project to progress to its next stage.
Today, that next stage is underway.
Tilt Renewables is now leading the development of Central Midlands Wind Farm, with Zeff continuing to provide support as the project moves forward. With a potential capacity of up to 1,100 MW, Central Midlands Wind Farm has the potential to become one of Western Australia's largest renewable energy projects.
This transition reflects the natural evolution of a large-scale renewable energy project, bringing together Zeff's local relationships and development work with Tilt's experience in delivering and operating renewable energy projects across Australia.
While our role will evolve over time, our appreciation for the trust placed in us by local landowners and the community remains unchanged. Zeff will continue to work alongside Tilt Renewables, landowners and the broader community during this transition, helping ensure the project continues to be developed responsibly, transparently and in a way that delivers lasting benefits to the region.
At Zeff, we believe successful renewable energy projects are built on trust, transparency and genuine partnerships with the communities in which we operate.

Zeff Energy was proud to be the Principal Partner of the Moora Hay Bales Festival, a unique community event that celebrates local talent, creativity and regional spirit.
Held in an arena built from hay bales, the festival brings together local musicians, school groups, community choirs and professional performers in a truly distinctive Wheatbelt setting. Since its inception, the event has become a highlight of the local calendar, attracting strong community participation and showcasing the talent that exists throughout the region.
Beyond the festival itself, the Moora Hay Bales initiative supports year-round community engagement through music, education and performance opportunities. Working in partnership with Australian Baroque and Mirabilis, the program provides local residents of all ages with the opportunity to learn, rehearse and perform alongside professional musicians.
More than 30 local musicians, school choirs, community choirs, family bands and instrumental ensembles have participated in the program, helping to build confidence, develop new skills and strengthen connections across the wider Moora region.
As a company that works closely with regional communities, Zeff is proud to support initiatives that bring people together and contribute to the vibrancy and resilience of country towns. We thank the organisers, volunteers and participants who make Moora Hay Bales such a special community event.
